Great microphone boom, simple to use.
Every component of the boom stand is really high quality for the low price, except for the plastic ball and socket connection at the end of the arm. While the entire arm holds firm, this last crucial component to which you attach the microphone (and which I adjust the most regularly) is difficult to tighten enough to avoid slipping. Iâm sure with a dynamic mic it would be fine, but I have to carefully position my Rode NT1-A and shock cage (which are within the weight limits) in order to avoid the cage slipping.
Long story short, itâs great if you donât want to reposition it regularly.
I also managed to break off two inside clips of the cable management cover when putting the cover on. These could be stronger to avoid this. Thankfully the cover seems to hang on ok with the remaining two clips.
Overall itâs a good boom stand for the price and Iâm mostly happy with it, but I definitely recommend Desky starts making the ball and socket connection out of steel instead of plastic. â€ïž
The Boom Arm is extremely sturdy, easy to setup, and provides extreme flexibility within my desk office setup. I give it a 5/5 in all categories and highly reccomend it.
