The return is the shorter side of the desktop.
Our L-shaped desk is not only incredibly stable but also built to handle more weight. With a 496lbs capacity, it can support significantly heavier loads than the Dual, which is rated for 330.7lbs.
Our solid wood desktops are built to last and will actually harden over time. While they can get scratches and dents, many people feel this simply adds character. We recommend leaving your desk plugged in continuously – the desk has a low draw power supply to help minimise power consumption.
I bring a lot of work home that involves both computer and microscope use. I needed a solid desk to take the weight of my microscope while still having room for all the electronics. To make sure the desk return could take the microscope weight we did install the included (but optional) flat plates between the main desk and return side. With the solid weight of the hardwood top and sturdy frame, there is no problem moving all the weight.
Overall pretty good, just need to be mindful the L shape could be a little it more studier. Need to be a bit careful bot putting too much pressure where both pieces connect
I strongly recommend Desky's L-Shaped Sit Stand Desk. When it came time to build the desk, I followed Desky's instructional video, which was extremely helpful and easy to follow. The process took a few hours but overall was fairly simple. The biggest challenge is getting the return to sit completely flush with the main desk. Once built, the controls for moving the desk up and down are easy to use. The build quality is excellent and very sturdy. The desk itself is quite heavy so note that you may need assistance from another person moving the desk or its parts around when setting up.
I purchased the Teak L-Shape sit stand desk earlier this year. The set-up is quite easy with the instructions. The quality of the materials stands out and feels high end. It does appear to scratch easily but that could also be the user.
Our experience with Desky has been exceptional, particularly in terms of customer service and the quality of both the desks and their components. The assembly process was straightforward, and the desks themselves are sturdy and well-made, contributing to a highly satisfactory setup.
However, I would recommend caution regarding the Desky Go Slimline Steel Mobile Pedestal filing cabinet. In comparison to the quality of the Desky desks, the cabinet feels somewhat flimsy in its design. We initially selected this option for our two desks, as we felt the Desky Wooden Minimal Filing Cabinet at $599 was outside of our desired price range. In hindsight, we might have opted for the wooden version, but it's unclear whether it’s essentially the same design with just a wood front.
Additionally, we encountered a small issue during the assembly of both desks. The wood front drawer rubbed against the cabinet, causing friction. My husband, being quite handy, was able to come up with a creative solution by adding a spacer to create a small gap between the drawer and the cabinet. While this resolved the issue, it might not be an obvious fix for someone who isn’t particularly handy.
That said, I am rating Desky 5/5 due to the excellent quality of the desks, the smooth assembly process, and, most importantly, their outstanding customer service. Throughout the entire process, the Desky team was responsive, supportive, and incredibly helpful. When two items arrived damaged, they immediately…
The desk in Pheasantwood looks fantastic and feels great. The “live” edge with the curvature on the edge doesn’t dig into the wrists while working. The cable tray with the power adapters works perfectly and hides all my cables. Combined with the monitor Stand and desk drawer, it’s the perfect setup.
Great desk. I would only comment that I would like the instructions updated. The QR code took me to a desk that had different joins to the return, asked for wood screws (that didn’t fit), and didn’t ask for the ‘optional’ plates to make the return more secure. I was able to get prompt support, but think this information should be correct to begin with. Also, I put three different desks together. I would have liked a way to know which boxes matched which desk. I worked it out eventually, but it would have saved me much time and head scratching if they were somehow marked. Beautiful desk with easy up down function.
I looked at standing desk options for some time and landed on Desky. The packaging, instructions and quality are all great. Cord management is great, I didn’t want a bunch of ugly cords hanging. It was expensive but looks I am happy with my purchase
I finally decided to get a proper home office setup and am happy I went with Desky. The desk is huge, beautiful, and so easy to adjust. The instructions were clear and the videos helped on that front. The only wish is that there were markings to drill for the drawer (that was pretty nerve-wracking drilling into the desktop). Also within the instructions, I would add a note that the drawer should be added before the desk is flipped over. Definitely more than 45 minutes to assemble but that isn't a drawback. There are a few very minor imperfections on the desk finish, but these are hidden under the felt deskpad. The cable management is awesome. The only wire I see is a single USB-C to connect my laptop and there's no getting away from that! I appreciate that the desktop is attached via embedded hardware so that should I move the desktop can be taken apart and reassembled without damage - this thing can't fit through the door.
Besides the desk, I also purchased the pro ergonomic chair with the nice wheels, laptop riser, and monitor arm. I couldn't be more pleased. The monitor arm is easy to adjust and rock-solid. The chair super comfortable and simple to adjust to vary my position throughout the day.
